Prior to Coloring:
1. Test the Hair Color:
- Perform a skin allergy test on yourself. To do this, clean a small area (quarter size) around the bend of your elbow. With a plastic utensil, mix dab of formula while applying a small amount to your skin.
- Do not wash this area for at least 2 days to see if a reaction occurs. If there is a reaction such as redness or irritation, call a doctor before applying color to the hair.
- Now do a strand test which involves applying color to a small section of hair. Do this before you color your entire head of hair! This is so you can get an idea of how long to keep the formula on you hair while achieving the color you're looking for. It will also provide a pretty good preview of what your hair is going to look like!
2. Apply Protective Treatment:
- Prior to coloring your hair, you'll want to protect fragile ends and assist hair to accept even color
- Twist and break off round tip on tube to open
- Massage product on dry ends before coloring and avoid the root area
- Wait for a couple minutes and do not rinse
- Continue to mix color and follow the rest of application instructions
3. Mix Color:
- Use colorist gloves and twists off the tip of the developer (1) bottle cap before starting. Remove cap from bottle.
- With the point on the cap, pierce the opening of the color creme (2) tube. Do not point either end towards your face. Squeeze all the contents of the color creme (2) into the developer (1) bottle and then put the cap back on the bottle.
- Put your finger on the open tip, hold away from your face and shake well until mixture is totally blended. The developer bottle is now your hair color bottle!
*Be Careful: Do not squeeze or put pressure on color creme tube until the tube opening has been pierced completely. Be careful when you are using the tube contents. Contact between contents and eyes could cause blindness.
*Please Note: Under any circumstances, never leave the tip of the developer bottle unopened after mixing. This is prevent the container from bursting. Use immediately and do not save any unused mixture.
