Curling Iron Types - Spring, Marcel & Clip Less Wand

Curling irons create curls or waves in the hair using heat. There are three different types of curling irons on the market, spring, marcel and clip less. One is geared towards the salon professional and the other two are easily used by the average person.

Curling Iron Types

  • Spring Curling Iron: These are the most popular and inexpensive curling irons and usually purchased by non-professionals. They are the most user friendly of all the three types. There is a small spring that automatically closes the clamp on the barrel and then you manually open the clamp using a convenient thumb lever. Very easy to use and creates beautiful curls!

  • Marcel Curling Iron: Very popular among professionals but difficult to use without experience. They require you to open and close the clamp with the use of several fingers. Also, the handle spins so you can rotate the curling iron without the use of both hands. This makes it the perfect tool for the salon atmosphere.
